102.9 The Lake format

Is it just me or does 102.9 the Lake seem much more like a typical 70s/80s classic hits station than a variety/adult hits station? The playlist always leaned older but lately it seems like the focus is on the early 80s with the rest being made up by 70s and later 80s tunes and nothing newer. "We Play Anything" never really was that true for them, but it certainly isn't now. It's also an anomoly in that they have DJ's, something I've never seen on another iHeart adult hits station.

I guess Charlotte finally, albeit subtly, got their classic hits station many had been wanting...

It's certainly not as wide a playlist as 98.7 Simon in Greensboro. Sometimes they sound like a conventional classic hits station, and sometimes like a Hot AC, and sometimes their musical choices make no sense. That's how "We play everything" should be.

I thought Bob in Myrtle Beach was the same as The Lake but one time I turned it on and they were playing "Turn Up the Radio" by Autograph. That's more like it, I guess. And Myrtle Beach has an actual classic hits station but, as of several weeks ago, no Hot AC.
