I was able to pick up this station loud and clear in Paradise Valley over the weekend in the car. Anyone notice the same? Didn't sound too bad for a CHR actually. I remember they use to run "Hot Mix" on the weekends years ago.

KQST is generally audible on Shea Blvd. between Scottsdale Road and the 51 (and probably on other roads running parallel to Shea to the north, i.e. Cactus/Greenway/Bell). I think the same holds true for the other "Q" -- Tucson's KRQ(Q).
A few years back, I remember KQST having an interesting recurrent-heavy playlist during the day (and not just the same old recurrents) and leaning Rhythmic at night.
