102 Is Staring To Play Rap

I have noticed over the last month 102 has starting playing some rap I heard 2pac and Doug E Fresh. I was hoping 102 would tweak there playlist and play nothing newer than 1996. Guess they are trying to get some listeners from 92.1 but is not working
 
I know but why play rap now and they have never done it before they do not really to get more listeners
 
Well they have done it before.. up until they came under the same ownership with KBXX in 1994. It would have made more sense for RO to program KMJQ with a mix of classic hip hop and R&B. The audience has been there for at least a good part of a decade. Those two particular genres seem to go hand in hand. I have noticed Boom playing some R&B lately.
