103.1 KHHL Request For Power Increase

I am surprised to hear that, since the last I heard BMP which is controlled by the lenders is selling all of it's stations.

Maybe they will do what they did to Elgin's 92.5 and sell it off with an additional incentive to boost power.

6 months later, or before the Christmas holidays headlines will read:

K-LOVE soon to come to Karnes City at 103.1,

or

Air-1 97.7 Northside San Antonio and 103.1 Southside San Antonio.
(probably a better idea)

BMP has requested to boost 103.1 from 34,000 watts to 50,000 watts. This is good news for booming growth currently occuring on the southside of SA.

That application has been around for a while, and was approved back in June. While it would improve the coverage a little on the southeast side, remember that there's the problem with another 103.1 in the area:

The fringe-level signals of KEEP and KHHL clash near downtown and that won't change much even if the power increase happens.

That's doubtful since KZLV 91.3 covers San Antonio rather well with the K-Love format and KHHL really wouldn't help:

And the same would apply to 97.7, which even with its limitations covers the area much better (north and south) than KHHL ever could, power increase or not:

Then again, with EMF in a buying mood lately, anything could happen.

That part of South Texas is really booming. It's a shame someone doesn't go in and run a hyper local station to serve the people in the actual service area.

I would agree Fred. Beeville's 105.7 which serves that area is an excellent example of what you suggest. Super local, and run very well. I think it's called Kicker 106?
