It would not surprise me very much.Warshaw has been very emphatic about local radio, with local staffing and local sponsorship. So that would surprise me.
Other large companies have used such rhetoric in the past and seldom live up to it.

I also heard a song by pop artist Teddy Swims and a recent one by Taylor Swift. I believe those would not be played by most Country stations.
Perhaps they’re aiming for a younger audience?
Perhaps the decline in overall ratings is also a factor in changing the music mix.
Smith's duet with Lainey Wilson, "Nice to Meet You," got regular airplay on SiriusXM's The Highway a few months back. (I think it may not have been an actual duet but merely Wilson's vocals added to Smith's hit long after it was originally recorded, with the singers never in the same studio together.) Did The Wolf play that? The Wolf added another song not generally heard on Country radio:Stargazing, by Myles Smith.
I recall that former New York Country station WNSH briefly tried adding a few pop songs into the rotation. That did not last more than a few weeks.
I believe that The Wolf did play that song. I didn’t realize Smith did have that bit of connection to Country Music.Smith's duet with Lainey Wilson, "Nice to Meet You," got regular airplay on SiriusXM's The Highway a few months back. That should get the signal well into interior Connecticut. I used to get 99.9's HD when I lived in Meriden. The problem is that this is an HD2, which a large percentage of radio users aren't aware they can even receive. Maybe frequent mentions on air will persuade a few to try it out, but significant impact is unlikely. The Wolf is promoting on air that they are now being simulcast on the HD2 of sister station WEZN 99.9 in Bridgeport, CT.
Does that significantly expand their signal?
