At first glance, seems like a shift towards Bilingual AC ala Magic 93.9 Miami and La Exitosa 98.7 New York, just with less English tracks than those play.
As said many times, this kind of format only works in Florida where the emigrants were middle-class back home. Not in LA, not in New York. If they play less English, it's good, but probably not enough.

The ratings in New York are not that bad. In the beauty pageant 6+ AQH share results, 98.7 (Bilingual AC) and 96.3 (Hispanic rhythmic hits) have been running pretty even with one another in recent months.

Now, does the Bilingual AC format generate the same healthy AQH share that 93.9 in Miami generates? Nope.

KXXM in San Antonio, a market where some claimed such a format would struggle, is hovering around a 3 share.

To compare WEPN and WMIA would be insane. WEPN is completely different playlist wise. You will rarely hear soft latin ballads on it as opposed to WMIA, and it instead runs salsa and merengue to fill that hole. While they're both Bilingual AC, they're very different in their approach to the format.

...which makes perfect sense given the very significant cultural difference between the two cities.
