103.3 AMP Radio's "T.J. in the Morning"

I listened to T.J. today on Sirius XM as they carry WHTZ (Z100) in New York and the Elivis Duran Show that T.J. is on. He sounded okay but not sure he will be the Godsend to compete with Matty. What do others think?

So are you saying he'll last 2 weeks, two months, two quarters?

Stations get updates weekly these days. They can see minute by minute ratings one week after they've happened. My point is that nobody hires a morning show host and drops them within 2 months. The guy gets a year, minimum.

I love how people are already saying he is not going to last, especially when more than half of you are not even in the industry, let alone done a morning show. T.J is a great guy. He is very talented and his passion for radio is huge. He has spent the last 10 years under the wings of Elvis Duran and crew, and has grown from a phone op to a co-host on one of the biggest top 40 morning shows in radio history. He is more then ready to start his own morning show, and I know he will do great.

30-Year veteran here, sir.

30 years doesn't automatically make you a professional judge of taste. In fact, it may hinder your ability to accurately judge a host aimed at young women. I'd take a lot more stock in what you're saying if you were a 25 year old woman.

I'm well aware of how Arbitron books work. I've been down to Maryland several times to read the damn things, one by one. I was mostly pointing out the fact that you seem to be out of touch. Nothing drives me more nuts than calling the guy "fired" before he's even finished day 1.

Don't recall saying that my tenure makes me a professional judge of taste. However, it may very well enable me to judge the "radio landscape" pretty well. A 25-year old woman can't do that.

Your awareness of Arbitron evaded me in an earlier post when you seemed confused as to what I meant by "two books," which I felt required a brief explanation. Incidentally, the diary system is still used in many of the lesser markets.

Also might i add half of the people on here aren't in amps demos anyhow so of course your not going to like him anyways.
