I'm surprised at this. Jeff Lyon was a pretty good jock. What does it say about the station, though, that they fired their morning show producer and their night guy?

I hate to break it to them, but these two guys were not KDF's problem. It's just a testament that any little guy can take the fall for poor management.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. KDF's problems are three-fold:
[*]Boring talent (especially now that Lyon's gone)
[*]Music selection - KDF tries to break in too many new records, WSIX is heavy on recurrents and golds
[*]Ownership - Citadel is too quick to fiddle with things on these two stations because it's all they have here. They're spending a lot of money on just two stations and they need results or their entire presence in the market fails for them.

By the way, who was that VTing 103 tonight? It sounded like Kim from Kim & Dean, but I didn't get to hear a break where she identified herself, whomever it was.

'Twas weekender and filler-inner "Temple", and I'm not sure it was VT'd.

More like "lack of" -- they're still w/o a GM. The phrase "who's minding the store?" comes to mind.

Two stations, yes, but three properties. They operate the largest (in affiliate count) of all of the pro football team radio networks right up on the Hill. And rumor has it that in a few months, they'll have a certain network's country formats based here. What's that on the horizon? Could that be a flagship for one of said formats?

Are you implying that ABCitadel would run all their satellite country networks out of Nashville, rather than Dallas, and put KDF on one of them? Not a chance in hell.<P ID="signature">______________

"Run?" Maybe not. "Host and uplink?" That's more like it, in an effort -- misguided or not -- to get them "closer to the music" and "better access to the performers and business."

And should the rumor ever become reality, it'll never be 103 on "it", but "it" on 103, possibly sans one or both drives to allow for local programming.
