103.3 WOLT

I rarely, if ever, listen to 103.3 WOLT (horrible signal here), but I was wondering if they have made any program changes or if what's listed on the site is still correct? The site hasn't changed in a long time and the message board seems to be cluttered up with all kinds of spam. What are they doing these days?

You rarely hear anything about the health of Davidson Media, I'm guessing the 103s and 910 are doing ok for them.

i used to hear sports talk during lunch but now it is a man and woman he calls tequila. they seem to be playing beach music because he said she could dance at a show that was coming up. i went to the next station. i have heard brother bill on there from time to time when it is oldies.

Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba bird, bird, bird, the bird is the word!
Ba-ba-ba bird, bird, bird! The bird is the word!

It's 6:07 and 103.3 has some weird blues/rock sounding song going on.

Guess all of the in-house oldies programming is gone now. Oh well, it wasn't really as good when they started brokering so many different times out.

I guess someone much had purchase the time slots that the inhouse oldies been playing.

i sent them an email to ask them about it music At Wolt-fm.com

That so called 'in house' oldies was much better. A good selection of 60s and 70s with an occasional late 50s tossed in. What is on now is already being done to some point by 102.5 and 98.9.

it was more fun playing deejay at home as a kid with household things as your controls and a spoon as your microphone by yourself with no one listening than paying davidson money to be a deejay with a real studio and no one listening.

Gotta agree. Nobody is listening, this station is all over the place. 103.3 has too much going on. I'm sure shows like Drake, Bob Ross have 'cult' followings but anything else is going to fail because nobody knows it is there. I've lost track of what is going on there.

I agree. But as long as these people have the dough, I guess Davidson really doesn't care.

Rant about Davidson Media Group

You're right Davidson doesn't care as long as the checks clear. You guys ought to hear the schlock that's running on his 990 AM in suburban Hartford up in Connecticut. They have a computer hooked up to their board and it runs an internet stream over the air. It's Spanish Christian programming called "Radio Cantico Nuevo." It's horrible It's often distorted and over modulating and it's full of technical foul-ups. I normally don't listen to the station because 1). I don't speak Spanish and 2). Even if I did I wouldn't listen to a Christian formatted station, but every so often I turn it on praying (pun intended) that a new broker would come along and LMA the station. Anyway when I turned on said station the other day (they switch to daypower at 7:15AM) they were running two programs at the same time - a screaming Spanish speaking Female Preacher (that sounded like it was coming in over a phone line) and a CD of Spanish music that sounded like it was playing from a CD player in the station's studio. This went on for more than 45 mins. (I didn't listen but I periodically kept checking). They also don't do a proper legal ID. "Radio Cantico Nuevo" does the ID for the 3 stations that carry their programming. The Legal ID they do is "WNSW 1430 AM Newark-New Jersey, WXCT 990 AM Connecticut-Massachusetts, WBQN 1160 AM Barceloneta-Marti Puerto Rico." Um hello, WXCT Connecticut-Massachusetts isn't close to being legal. It should be WXCT 990 AM Southington, Connecticut. (Connecticut being optional of course, but Southington is the City of License). Other technical foul-ups - Often times they would start one show cut it off and begin another show. Another time I had it on and I heard their internet stream crash on the air and they ran a dead carrier for around 20 hours. Of course my favorite foul-up was when the legal ID crashed. "WNSW 1430 AM Newark New Jersey W.....(muffled audio)." And then they started over again.

Anyway coming back full-circle to WOLT, if I had the money I'd buy it from DMG (along with the one in Connecticut that I mentioned above) and I would do a local in-house oldies format on both.
