103.5 The BEAT

Did Clear Channel make a mistake flipping 103.5 THE BEAT from Urban to Urban AC? I just don't see 2 Urban AC stations survivng the Miami market. Im pretty sure 103.5 is at the bottom of the ratings compared to HOT 105 in all dayparts.

Since WTPS-AM was sold, the best bet would be for 103.5 THE BEAT to snatch syndicated Michael Baisden Show for afternoon drive. He's one of the top syndicated Urban AC shows besides Tom Joyner and Steve Harvey. Also, the syndicated "Sweat Hotel" hosted by R&B signer Keith Sweat heard nightly on 103.5 is a total mess. I haven't heard any good reviews since Clear Channel started syndicating this show.

Is 103.5 THE BEAT in a FORMAT FLIP ZONE?

I think they gave up too early on 103. The programming was all wrong for the Miami Market. Clear chanel has given 94.9 more time than it deserves but gave up on 103. They should have kept the Baka Boyz, changed middays, Aftermoon and nights were talking waaaayyyyyyy to much. The only mixers worth a damn were Ideal and Mauricio and sometimes not always. Miami is a unique radio market which require unique sounding stations. 103 never had that. They needed a fresh young PD, maybe someone they could have snatch out from WEDR or WPOW. If anyone from CC reads this ... I'll consult 103.5 if you switch them back to Urban and 2 books they'll compete with EDR and POW if not win !... LOL LOLOL !
