Can somebody explain this station to me...It's like a combination of CHR/RHY, Urban, Urban AC...It's playlist is all over the place and then sometimes they play Miami Heat games...There is no identity and you can't figure out what their target audience is supposed to be...I think they gave Alex this station to program but it needs a big fix...

Ha Ha Ha, this station is till alive? 103.5 The BEAT is trying to sandwhich itself between 99 JAMZ(urban) and HOT 105(urban ac). The playlist is all over the place i will admit. I'm thinking they maybe holding to this format for Steve Harvey's sake. Premier (steve harvey's syndication company) and Clear Channel are joined. They just need to go str8 HIP-HOP!

There are so many Hip Hop Rhythmic Urbans in Miami,, you got WEDR for Hip Hop, and Power 96 for Rhythmic Hip hop and dance pop,, and 105 is urban AC,, I think they need to go directly after one of the stations, instead of trying to appeal to all 3 stations audience, and they will just be a button pusher for when Power is playing Kesha, or WEDR is playing a slow jam,, or when 105 is in a break.

I like Rhythmic urban radio, but Miami doesnt need so many, it cannabalizes the heritage statiions. Im a huge fan of Power 96,, not that The beat is any threat.

Now when Clear Channel first launched 103.5 THE BEAT the station was blazin it!!!! Miami is clearly a party city, but from listening to 99 JAMZ and POWER 96 sometimes it's hard to tell. I will say everytime I visit Im always listeing to pirate stations down and damn there is plenty hip-hop and reggae to choose from. My favorite is the HOT 97.7 pirate!
