103.7 Advertisers!?!?!?

In looking past what kind of station everyone hoped/thought KIOL would be, I have a different kind of a question. This morning just before 6:00 a.m. I heard an advertisement on KIOL for an escort service! At first I thought it was some sort of gag ad, but it was the real deal. The commercial featured a mock call from a guy to the service wanting a date to impress his co-workers with. I was shocked... I couldn't believe that would be considered acceptable by station management. I don't believe any FCC-type standards were in question, but I had to give my radio a second glance because I never thought a radio station would have an escort service as an advertiser. I know that KLOL in its rock days was known for being the station for strip club advertisements, and KIOL has picked up some of those as well, but this seems to be over the line.

Am I overreacting or just naive as to the nature of the business when it comes to this sort of thing? Any and all opinions/facts/history lessons would be appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance!

I'm not really surprised, but I wouldn't have expected to hear something like that at that time of day.
I wouldhave expected that in an overnight slot.

> You may be shocked but are you really surprized? The gang that runs that place have yet to impress me. Every one the the stations they run have some real problems resulting from poor management. It really is sad. The good thing to keep in mind. Few can pick them up on the radio. You were a rare breed with all the stars alined and directly inlined with your radio to hear them. Where has radio gone. I know xm and others.

It's subjective. I don't think they should be ran at any time. But who am I?
Worse things have been ran in that time slot in this town.
