103.7 Chuck Fm

And 105.1 was playing some kind of UGA programming, while 103.7 was not. I guess this is what 105.1 meant by "Holiday Home of the Dogs"...

Chuck was playing their regular music around midday Saturday.

According to their website, they are the soundtrack for The Magical Nights of Lights at Lake Lanier. The Christmas Music will only be 5:00PM until 12:00AM through XMas day.

My understanding, at least what the station told me, is that B98.5 will go 50% Christmas after Thanksgiving and ramp up to 100% as it gets closer to Christmas.

Likely once or twice an hour to start before ramping up, drastic change from the 100%Xmas music in previous years on turkey eve as wrongly speculated and predicted here by many.

I prefer a ramp up instead of 24/7 Christmas. I remember the time when all Christmas did not happen until a couple of days before December 25th.

FWIW, sister (or, rather, country cousin) Chuck FM is playing a Christmas playlist that is light on standards (no Andy Williams or Bing) and heavy on relatively recent (1980s to now) material. Could B be doing their Christmas format more in the manner of that?

In my experience …

Stations I worked for back in the dark ages (1960's) used a ramp up pattern, and it seemed to keep the mood of anticipation and entertainment growing, not shooting all the fireworks at the first. Ever hear of something called a "finale?"

Chuck seems to have dumped the all-Christmas (at least for now) and handed it all over to 105.1.
