103.7 Fm

Lately I have been noticing that 1037 has been going off the air a lot.Is that due weather conditions interfering or is something else.Just curios

When has it gone off the air? I listen to it quite a bit, and I've never heard it go off. Reception is bad in some areas now, but its never been off the air.

I've heard the station have some dead air alot when it first started but has gotten better. But this past Friday, during Dale and Holley, it dropped out completely for at least 5 minutes. Sometimes the quality of the feed(I'm assuming it's a feed from Brighton they are receiving) is really good or really bad. Bad as in meaning it sounds like an AM station but really good meaning it sounds like a true FM stereo station. I wish they would have someone sit there and actually run the spots locally because when they go in and out of spot breaks, it can sound really awful.

I heard the same thing, was less than a minute and it was because the caller got dumped up in Boston.

Really? So they will take dead air because someone in Boston was dumped? Wouldn't it be a better idea to take a feed with the delay included so they won't have to worry about dead air. I don't think Entercom realizes how big 103.7 is for Southern Mass. and Rhode Island.

They are picking up the feed with a little delay; but when they dump out of it, the delay has to start building back up again...like I said, the dead spot was < a minute (more like < 10 seconds). I have heard times where there have been obvious problems with the computer down here kicking in on spot sets; but that has been very infrequent lately (more of a problem early on)

To my knowledge, during the 3 big day shows, they have a board op running the providence board, and thats where the problem probably came in, he missed a dump, so you got the dead air. Dead air happens, its a fact of radio, no one wants it, but it can sometimes be unavoidable.
