103-7 KHJK

Heard a sweeper earlier that said "103-7 KHJK, Where the music is going" Kinda odd, could they be trying to tell us something... as in going AWAY

What stations are those and how are they gonna put 2 stations on 1 frequency? Where do you get your info from?

mrtexmex is expecting a Shine All 9 football special here with one station on the left channel and the other on the right. Listening on his mono radio will be hell, however.

lol!

Sure hope they're not going away. They're the only station in Houston I enjoy. I stopped caring that they still occasionally refer themselves as "Jack FM" still. We have enough spanish stations, we don't need one more. If I want all spanish stations, I'll move to Laredo.

I know nothing as to the validity of the original post. I can, however, confirm that KIKR and KBED simulcast, they're Spanish, and they are both owned, as is KHJK, by Cumulus. So...it could pretty easily happen.

Laredo is lovely this time of year.

I've heard a few oldies in their mix lately - is it possible they are going to fill the void? We sure don't need another Spanish language station, I would think the market is saturated with them already.

KIKR and KBED do indeed simulcast "La Gran D" for the Triangle. If Cumulus were to move La Gran D to FM, wouldn't that be admitting they had no business targetting Houston with their "More Power, More Tower" stick, as La Gran D is a Beaumont marketed station?

My best bet it would be a spanish format.

"Where Music Is Going" is a generic line some alternative stations have used for many years. In the mid-90s, when WHTZ "Z100" was an alternative-leaning CHR, one legal ID was "WHTZ Newark/New York City, Z100, It's Where Music Is Going." The old KRQT "Rocket 107" used very similar imaging at the time...
