103.7 the Band is now the Bay's Greatest Hits

It sounds like its back to a rock leaning Classic Hits station

Yeah I heard the Turtles, Mamas and Papas, Jonathan Edwards, Temptations, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Don McLean, Harry Chapin, Raspberries, Dobie Gray, Jim Croce, Lovin;' Spoonful, Four Seasons, Looking Glass, Orleans and Hamilton, Jay , Frank and Reynolds.

Smart move....Probably a pre-emptive move to thwart somebody coming in with a straight-forward Classic Hits format.

I think they'll see improved numbers down the road!

Since The Band's slogan is now "The Bay's Greatest Hits, " it's pretty clear that they're positioning themselves to get the more pop Classic Hits audience now that the Classic Rock format is spread all around the dial.

They even have a KFRC connection of sorts, with Celeste Perry in the evenings. Can Cammy Blackstone be far behind? (kidding)

I am really not surprised, especially when K-Fox expanded to include 102.1. Now it looks like the battle will be between K-Fox & The Bone.

That's great they playing other stuff now. Be nice if they added they aired "Rock & Roll's Greatest Hits!" in this market. I missed that show when the old 99.7 KFRC went away.

Where's Sylvia CHA CHA Chacon?

You may be asking that rhetorically- but Sylvia fills-in on K-Bay. She did middays at Star 101.3 for a couple of years, before Clear Channel cut her loose so they could save some money voicetracking middays.

If CC wants to bring her back for The Band, I guess they know where to find her.

Sylvia has left KBAY to work as a traffic reporter for Metro as well as fill-in for KISQ for Clear Channel. Former KFRC morning host, Celeste Perry is voice-tracking nights for The Band.

What air name(s) is Sylvia using when doing traffic for Metro? I thought one of the substitute voices doing traffic on KQED sounded familiar.

And on that same topic, anyone know who's the person behind "Carla Knight" on KQED? Sounds a lot like Angie Coiro.

I'll help on the latter. She's Karla Knight. She has worked in the traffic biz for years. Also does KLLC traffic in the afternoons.

Been listening online for a while today...Sounds like they upped the tempo a bit...But the same old, boring Bay Area sounding, retread music!

It's no K-Earth, KOOL or WCBS...yet anyways??...Maybe they're doing a slow transition? Can only hope!

KKSF is great! Same freq. as the old KGO-FM (103.7).

Personally I like their playlist MUCH better than KOOL-FM (none of that disco crap).
