103.7

Surprised that in another market where CBS owns a station at 103.7 they go back to using only the calls to brand the station and stop using the Lite FM brand. But in Charlotte its opposite CBS stops using WSOC on 103.7. KVIL is to Dallas just as WSOC is to Charlotte both well known and historical calls.

Maybe because people used to fill out the ARB diaries with dial positions rather than call letters.

They also might want to change the image of the station. I know that WKKT did their best to make WSOC-FM look old and stogy, your father's radio station.

I saw a van with the great big 103.7 on it in traffic one day. I felt sorry for the driver, it looks really tacky.

WSOC is still a TV station. The radio station probably should have dumped those letters, and there was a rumor they would.

How did BBN get the WYFQ letters? Those would be good for a "hot country" station. But somehow BBN got everything from WYFG to WYFZ.

I wonder what they would say about WTIX and WAME?

WTIX being the one good country radio station close to Charlotte.

If they were old like me they would say that WTIX used to be an AM top 40 station in New Orleans and WAME used to be an R&B station in Miami (later a country station in Charlotte).
