103.9 Flipping To "Columbus Newsradio"

More likely to happen would be for Clear Channel to switch one of their stations to a simulcast of WTVN to beat them to the punch, that is their usual M.O. in cases like this. and if that were to happen most likely would be 106.7

Looks like 6am Thursday is the launch of the new station, they will have a morning news block with Kelly Quinn and Mark Nuce, with the rest of the day being filled out with CBS news and Americas radio news network.

If 103.9 sees some success.. You can darn well bet an FM will be airing WTVN-AM in their cluster [all it would take is just a punch of a switcher to do it at any second].. I predict 106.7 also as looking at the latest book it's getting beat by CD101 err I mean CD 102.5. (which has a pretty nice share .. I don't think I've ever seen CD10* that high)

I also noticed the new ratings for CD102.5.

As far as Classic Hits 103.9 goes today, they are not airing this local show today: "Be sure to tune into The Fab Four X 2 weekdays at 4:30pm with Greg Moebius for a double dose of The Beatles!"

That was posted on June 1, 2012... Also, they are not going to let Greg Moebius say goodby
to his listeners as they are now on satellite. This decision to change format on 920 and 103.9 may have been made over the last few weeks?

When WTDA was talk a few years ago, they were as high as 1.5 in the Arbitron.
The ratings for 2008 are here:

Talk on 103.9 had higher rating then Ted ever had on the frequency. This may be why they want to change formats back to a news-talk format.

No, actually Ted peaked at 1.5 just like Talk-FM. Winter '06, for example.

I had in mind the latest version of Ted format. The Ted after NABCO dropped the talk format on
103.9.

Now 920 AM WMNI is calling itself "News Radio 920 AM" as of 7:30 PM this evening. Still playing music now, though.

Actually, that's even further off. The Classic Hits format 103.9 just dumped) peaked even higher than Talk-FM.  It reached 1.9 just over a year ago (April 2011).  That was just before WNKO moved to New Albany.

Then, if that is the case, the WNKO-FM move-in impacted Teds ratings. That is odd because the
NABCO CE actually built the new WNKO-FM tower site.

Nuce's last name is, IIRC, a contraction of his real last name, but it has been several years since I have heard what that was.

10:50pm, The WTDA homepage  now shows nothing but the press release about the new format.  It says "Joomla" at the top (whatever that is), and has a space for log-in credentials at the bottom.

http://www.classichits1039.com/

I'm guessing that by the time most people see this it will redirect to a new Newsradio site.

Ironically the old website still called WTDA "The NEW" Classic Hits 103.9.

Joomla is a "CMS (Content Management System) for websites".. (kinda like Drupal, WordPress, etc..) -- I actually use Joomla for my xmusiconline.com website (allows a slick website in a SQL backend). Appears they blew out the "old" Classic Hits website and what your getting is a joomla page without a template/site loaded (the login box would be for the website admin to manage content).

Speaking of .. Listening to the web stream and at 4am they ID'ed as dry vocal legal ID "103.9 FM WMNI Westerville / Columbus"

Webstream is still up: http://in.icy3.abacast.com/nabco-wtdafmaac-48

Sounds like the FM is carrying the sports programming 920 had been carrying (Clippers baseball, Notre Dame, etc). I'm assuming the FM will continue with the rights to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Yesterday, I was reading WMNI's new Facebook page (just 10 likers after its first half-day on the air - not good?) and someone posted that 103.9 was still running "Classic Hits 103.9" liners after 8 AM...
