103.9 : New Format Speculation?

Isn't it pretty unusual for a station to flip shortly BEFORE Christmas instead of just after -- or even more commonly, just after New Year's?

8:08 AM and it still sounds the same to me. No change! Was this a false rumor?

My guess is yes it was false. just look up the history on the original poster, doesnt seem like someone who would be in the know. other than the fact he seems to have a real dislike for anything Nabco.

Wouldn't they want to give the new talk line up at least a year before they decide to kill it? Last but not least,
the new local morning show has only been in place for three months now. That's hardly enough time for the new WTDA morning show to knock off Bob Connors, the self proclaimed morning monarch over at WTVN.::)

Yes, I am suspecting that this was just a false rumor just to get posts or something???? If I am wrong I apologize in advance. ??? I was thinking as well why would they change before Christmas and they just switched up some things 3 months ago. It just didn't add up right. I guess I could find better things to do than to start rumors. ;D

Wonder if they would move the talk to 920? Line up is more condusive to AM.

Looks like they did switch to Classic Rock. Looks like no more Mark the Shark, they have a new listing from 6-10AM

Mark the Shark didn't say goodbye to his listners this morning show. Did he know this would be his last morning show on 103.9 after only three months on the air at that time slot? ??? Did we have the inside scoop? ??? Was this the shortest lifespan for a new morning show in the history of Columbus radio? What about
for the entire USA?

I really hate it (I know hate is a strong word) when they replace local content with syndicated. Not that the rest of the station had local content, but the morning show was local and I was actually listening to it.

On the plus side, I do think 103.9 works better as with a music format.

They are even using the same cutting edge digital technology as WODB that allows them to run spots over music! On the good side, at least they are using the 1960s analog technology that allows them to transmit in stereo, which WODB hasn't discovered yet.

What bird are they using?

What's the difference? They all sound pretty much alike. It's just another generic jukebox. From what I have heard so far, I liked Ted better.

I will give credit to WODB for airing Tom Kent. Although he is a satellite product, at least he is live, and for what it's worth, he is in Ohio...if that counts as semi-local.

I think ODB is simply trying to stretch a signal as far as it will go.

depsite that and some of their techincal issues, I do listen to them, as their format matches my age genre. But yes, I would love for a better signal and better presentation. But I take what I can get.
