103.9 The Hawk has been coming in around Fresno. Anyone noticed?

I caught the Hawk until 20 miles before the California/Nevada state line this weekend and heard songs that the Fox and the Blaze wont touch. Both stations could take a lesson..

You are right! That is why I like the Hawk best. Out of all the classic rock stations, The Hawk has the largest library of songs.

I have noticed today that 103.9 KDJK was coming in around Fig Garden, West Fresno and Riverpark with very little interference from 103.7 (which is KFBT not KRZR BTW). I have noticed Tropo conditions the last few days, picking up KATM instead of KZPO and KGFM 101.5 from Bakersfield instead of KAMB, and hearing KHKK 104.1 in areas bleeding over KFRR, but I'm not saying that 103.7s HD is on or off.

You are right! Largest Classic Rock Library. i have noticed that they have added 90's rock too. Used to be Classic Rock Of 60's, 70's & 80's. I wonder if the 1960's will eventually be dropped? I have heard The Hawk play "Hocus Pocus" by Focus. I haven't heard that song in years. They played some Iron Butterfly.

I noticed a lot of Classic Rock stations are playing 90's rock: 99.7 KIOO, 95.7 and 98.5 The Fox are going that route too, and I don't like it. To me, Classic rock is 60's, 70's and 80's. PERIOD!!! 105.1 The Blaze Plays 90's rock about 90% of the time and calls it classic rock. I would say they are going to go down in flames. That is my prediction. I could be wrong, but, it wouldn't surprise me if that station went to Spanish format a few years from now, and again, I could be wrong. ::) ::)

This is the trend today, time moves on , KKBZ 105.1 THE BLAZE will be around for a while, especially with the loss of KRZR, but even without that factor they play music that the Fox wouldn't play, and as far 90 percent 90s "I DON"T THINK SO" they play the best classic rock.

The same trend is happening to the Oldies (now called Classic Hits format). Unfortunately give it time and Classic Rock will eliminate the 60's. I don't see The Hawk switching to Spanish anytime soon. The Hawk is doing gangbusters in the ratings and has consistently been in the Top 5 in the ratings both Modesto & Stockton. Now i am wondering if Cumulus will sell off their smaller markets once they take over from Citadel? Maybe someone like Mapleton or Peak?

Very true, Even KABX is playing a lot more 80s now, and KJWL 99.3 that has originally played standard of the 50s and 60s, and had very high numbers in the past, is Playing 70s to today's AC hits.
As Far As KHKK and the Blaze changing format, I don't see that happening in the near future.
