103.9 The Hawk has flown away...

Today 103.9 The Hawk dropped their country format and became 103.9 The Party. They are playing a wide variety of songs and it's thought to be a stunt until a new format is announced. Wonder what it will be? Soft A/C maybe?

They could bring back the old good times n gr8 oldies or have the music between rock n rockin n have glenn beck and the A team do mornings LOL

Just a thought from the outside looking in. With 1039 dropping country, and 1051 doa, this seems to be a prime time for 1051 to go country (not classic country) with their stick located right in the middle of all the popular country zip codes. Also, with the AAA station at the bottom, wonder if a true jazz format would be a good fit for that frequency?

After stunting for the past week with 103.9 The Party, a station centered around upbeat party music, the station has found its permanent home with 103.9 The Groove.

“The Groove is a unique station, playing a lot of songs not heard on any other radio station in Louisville. A lot of our listeners will hear songs they grew up listening to, as well as songs from the past few years that they Groove to now”, said Cagle, SummitMedia Louisville’s Operations Manager. “You can Groove in the car, at home and at work! 2019 is the year of the Groove!”
SummitMedia Louisville’s General Manager Todd Pitt said, “Louisville is ready for a station that is as smooth as our Classic Bourbon and “The Groove” is THAT Station!”
