103.9 translator

Why does WVRB 95.3 need a translator at 103.9? They have a better signal in EVERY area of Lex than 103.9 except at the transmitter.
 
You're exactly right! They don't need a translator and neither does K-LOVE which has a translator on 105.9 in Lexington as well. I see that 107.1 WLAI-FM (Air 1) in Danville has an application in to the FCC to move up to Wilmore--well, change their COL to Wilmore and move to the stick that 95.3, 99.1, and 102.5 are on just south of the Fayette Co. line. EMF obviously really wants EVERY person in the Lexington Metro Area to be able to receive a K-LOVE and an Air-1 with a good signal. They don't seem to try this hard in other markets. What do you think, Chris?
 
I have no idea what is up KY, but I'm all for variety in radio choices and with all the semi-vacant frequencies being absorbed with translators, that won't be possible. I say do something useful with 96.1 and 101.5. What's up with talk on FM anyway. We have stations in the Lex. area on AM that are music and stations on FM that are talk. UGHHH!!. I'd love to be able to hear WGVN here in Danville past 7pm not to mention that WPGC in Wash. DC is under them 'bout all day. I guess their 50,000 watt directional array has issues.....
