1030 AM

Have some free time tonight so doing some DXing. Was able to ID KTWO, Casper Wyoming. A first for me.
But another english language station is underneath if I turn the radio.
WBZ? Seems unlikely, east coast stations never seem to show up here in the southwest.

What time? KCTA Corpus Christie TX is a daytimer, but they run 50 kW ND.

The furthest-east stations I've ever heard here are from Chicago. With KDWN gone, WGN is weak but audible on occasion. The most reliable is WBBM, and even that's not common. WLS used to be a semi-regular, but not since the mid '70s. KDXU is dominant on 890.

You are lucky to get WGN, I have to deal with KFIR broadcasting on ND day power here in the SF Bay area. I'm almost about to just throw in the towel on DXing, as some of these AM stations will not honor there agreement with the FCC.

OP, I get KTWO quite well here in San Jose.

As for other "W" stations I have gotten here are, WWL, WAOI, WBAP, WHO. I have gotten WGN, on winter nights when KDWN faded out momentaryily ( and KFIR was not pumping out 10KW illegally ).

Never gotten (but have tried religiously) WLS. I have 3 stations on 890 that make WLS impossible to get through.

KCTA stays on after sunset pretty often. I've noted them in the late evening several times recently. They carry Christian talk and preaching.

KFIR was very strong in Missoula MT on Thursday night. 450 miles to the SW, yet sounding just as loud as if KDWN fired their transmitter back up. I think WGN was buried underneath (about 1300 miles away).

What kind of programming did the second station have?
