104.1 & 104.7 Switch

From listening on the internet this evening, I noticed KABQ-FM still ID'ed as "Smooth Jazz 104.7 KABQ-FM Santa Fe/Albuquerque." They might want to talk to their imaging person about getting those liners recut!

Smooth Jazz was originally on 104.1. So the liners are correct.

No, they're not, or at least they weren't last night. They recut the liners to cover the new dial position but not the new city of license. 104.7 is licensed to Bosque Farms, not Santa Fe, and they've been on 104.7 since 7:30 AM yesterday. So, it was not correct to follow the calls immediately with "Santa Fe" in the legal ID's after the switch. The correct legal ID would be either, "KTEG Bosque Farms [Albuquerque]" or "KABQ-FM Bosque Farms [Albuquerque]," depending on whether they actually got the calls changed ahead of the FCC database.

You're right. The FCC, by and large, doesn't care. You'd have to flagrantly violate that provision for a long time to get into any trouble. However, I've been listening this evening while winding down, and the legal ID appears to have been corrected.
