104.1 Says HALLELUJAH!

At 11 AM today, 104.1 KISS-FM flipped to gospel as "104.1 HALLELUJAH-FM".

Last song on KISS was Dr. Dre's "The Next Episode".

First gospel song was Dr. Charles Hayes' "Work it Out". And they looped it for an HOUR before getting to something normal.

Let's see what happens, shall we?
______________

I'll admit... Gospel makes a lot of sense from a business standpoint for reasons I'm just too lazy to go into right now, though I wish they would have gone with something else. I would have much preferred Alternative, Hot/Modern AC, or "My 104.1". But then again, I live in Lafayette and my employment prevents me from filling out a diary (not to mention I don't have a landline phone)... so I don't matter much in this case. ..

Not meaning to boast or brag, but I called this one many moons ago. I just wonder what took so long for it to happen.
______________

It could mean a variety of ways. 1. They could go all gospel with this repeated loop. 2. Praise 94.9 (or whatever frequency they're on) are ready to see how Hallelujah can do against them, despite of their slightly fringed signal. 3. They, as you mentioned, stunting to create some sort of listener anticipation in hoping that it's a more powerful gospel station.

So the only way to find out is to listen.

It will be interesting to see how long they stick with it. If I remember correctly Gospel was tried once before on FM but on 106.7. Salem Communications tried it and lost their socks on the format here. Will be interesting to see how the spots air. I can see them bundling the stations together or something like "you get free spots on 104.1 when you buy 93.3" or etc etc. You get the picture.

I admit I loved hearing some OLD Contemporary Christian on it earlier today.. ie: BeBe & CeCe Winans "Addicted Love" and Mary Mary "In The Morning"

I'm not a fan of the format but this is interesting (like Diva was for the first few days)... Are they running liners and commercials yet or running Jockless? Also is it the same few songs (like a loop) or what?
Also how does it compare to 94.9 and WYLD 940am?
