104.1 WZIG Palm Harbor

I just found out about 104.1 WZIG in Palm Harbor the other day. Anyone know who owns it or when it started? Their website is www.wzig.org. Looks like they reach Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, East Lake, and maybe a few other areas in North Pinellas/South Pasco.

Its a LPFM owned by broadcast engineer Paul Kempter, or rather his dog Ziggy if you go along with his cover story. I stumbled across it a couple of weeks ago. Pretty good signal in N Pinellas County. Transmitter site by Lake Tarpon in Palm Harbor. Its one of those "eclectic" formats, a little of something for everyone. But the old saying goes you cant please everyone! so I find myself hitting the button every 15 minutes or so when something I don't like comes on. But I do like his oldies, both rock, country, and big band.

Interesting. Don't know Mr. Kempter for all my years in the market, however, wish him well. Sounds like fun! Love local radio. Sorely missed these days.
