104.3 Bakersfield

Bakersfield picks up its NINTH Spanish-language station at 104.3. The station that barely kept its license is on the air now with Spanish music. Jock talk on the station is in Spanish with some English sprinkled in. FCC says licensed to JAB Broadcasting with offices at 1701 Westwind (same street as KBAK-TV). Just what we needed. One more Spanish signal.

Fresno has about 13 Spanish Language stations, if you count the AMs and the Spanish Religion Formats, and their's one currently dark, KBHH 95.3 in Kerman.

And this is a bad thing?

I think this thread is racist IMO.

101.9 KLBN, KFSO 92.9, 100.5 KQMA , 92.1 KOND have HUGE numbers.

Nice... Thanks Bubba!

I could argue that the Bubba remark is racist. How far are we going to take PC ?

Wasn't 104.3 a Classic Rock Station at one time?

It was an Alternative Rock station at one time, heard it driving through Bakersfield around 10 years ago.
Don't know if it ever was Classic Rock.

I thought they were Classic Rock around 1995 as KXHA?

Yes... in the mid 90's, it was KXHA, owned by KAFY's Barro Broadcasting, before it went under (if I'm not mistaken). The license was returned to the FCC, and the frequency was dark, until now, with a new city of license (McFarland). Back then, it was licensed to Shafter (if my memory serve me correct).

104.3 in Bakersfield is now English and Spanish. Latin Pop/Top 40 format. I think Spanish Radio Group/Lotus owns this. Not sure

JAB Broadcasting from Oxnard. Javier Orozco, Sara Venegas, Elizabeth Plascencia.

Not Lotus.
