104.3 The Bay (Panama City Florida) WBYW-FM

I was in Panama City a couple weeks ago and got to hear this station. I would say it more of a Hot AC station, somewhere between Hot AC and Jack.

Thanks. There seems to be no indication of the format on the station's website or anywhere else online. I probably did hear this station as it was sort of pop-ish rock music playing.

Tonight was a good night for PC/central FL stations here in Alabama. In addition to this possible catch, I did get and confirm WKGC, WWAV, WMXZ, WAKT, WASJ, WILN and WPFM in a short span. This wasn't the usual fluttering distant reception but all of them full on and good stereo.

I caught the station yesterday when I got in town. (visiting family) The station is unique. I am not sure who they are targeting or if it's someone's toy. However, I liked most of what I heard.

I've never tried the A Online Radio App before, because I have Tunein Radio Pro (free app of the day a while back). They're listed but it doesn't stream, just a message saying they don't stream online. I can't get anything to stream on their website, either.

you high tech kids you. I have a radio and an antenna.

Well, aside from one instance a few weeks ago, I can't get WBYW in Baldwin County with an antenna and radio. ;)

As I recall, you have a shitty whip antenna and live in a pine forest. Get a two story house on the beach with a big ass rooftop yagi. You'll be good to go... and broke. ;)

For what it's worth, I prefer the privacy of living in a pine forest over beaches with no trees (the sun reflecting off the water and sugar white sand hurts my eyes)... but I'm to damn cheap to build a tower taller than the trees to plant an antenna on. Hence my poor reception problems at the Lake Seminole house. I wanted a tall tower so bad that before cell coverage reached the area I was in contact with cellular companies about building a tower on top of the hill on my land and leasing tower space to them. All in all I had an ulterior motive that I wanted to put up a very tall antenna for TV/FM reception and to possibly start a LPFM or pirate. Unfortunately it never panned out and I don't get to collect lease fees from Verizon, AT&T or Sprint... I should have looked for some professional advice on that plan rather than talking to the companies directly about engineering studies and shit I didn't really comprehend... I know I had the perfect location for a cell tower. Now I've got two towers within 3 miles of my hill and my hill is still the highest point in the county.

as we engineers say when it comes to coverage...."look at the map".......6 kw at about 250 above ground.....don't expect much after 20 miles....
