104.3 The Party What the &*^%

I heard the other day while driving through the area, The Valley's #1 Hit Music Station on 104.3 The Party. Last I knew that station was in like Matoon or Charleston so I'm wondering what "Valley" they are in. That seems a bit out there to be the Wabash Valley. And come to think of doesn't 100.7 use that same slogan or did at one time.

The other thing was that there was a "Retro Rewind" at 7:45 in the morning. I remember when I lived here that 100.7 did a Retro type song at that time the 747 flight back or something like that.

Seems to me that whoever is running The Party can't come up with any type of original idea so they'll just steal what they have heard from other stations.

That type of thing just gets under my skin.

GET A CLUE 104.3!!!

I just heard it as well. It is a stretch for them to go directly against 100.7 MIX-FM in Terre Haute. The other thing I really noticed was, they ID'd themselves as WCBH, Casey, Terre Haute and then 104.3 The Party, Terre Haute. It used to be Casey, Effingham. Definitely trying to go up against the mighty WMGI but the signal is a stretch to reach "The Valley" in large sums. I don't think they moved their tower. Interesting move on Cromwell's part. I too hate the un-original stealing of a slogan, moniker thing. MIX-FM is going through a transition internally right now so who knows what all this means.

Re: Retraction on the Party

After looking at Radio-Locator.com, I would say Party's signal is closer to Terre Haute than to Effingham AND it covers a decent amount of the Wabash Valley (area around the Wabash River) to use it in its name BUT I still agree that simply using MIX-FM's slogan is pretty lame and un-creative. MIX-FM will probably still rule the ratings game but after the last six months, I'd say the Party sounds a whole lot better overall. Who knows what the future brings. I wish the CHR format was worth all this attention. It isn't right now so I'll stop typing.

Re: Retraction on the Party

The Party enjoys some ratings sucess in the Terre Haute market already and does have a respectable signal over the valley. I also enjoy the way the station sounds, bright, lively and fun to listen to. I wonder what they use for audio processing?
