104.5 gone mental?

I tuned in for my Sunday night football fix w/ Fox Sports and the new Mentality show is on the radio?! Why? If 106.7 had more than a tin cup and some foil for their transmitter, 104 would feel the hit. ESPN is better than Fox but I guess all I can do is wait for 104 to regain sanity on Sunday night.

104.5 is run by idiots who value the mighty dollar over any kind of programming integrity.

"So far as radio--that most satisfying and rewarding instrument--is concerned, the diagnosis of its difficulties is rather easy. And obviously I speak only of news and information. In order to progress, it need only go backward. To the time when singing commercials were not allowed on news reports, when there was no middle commercial in a 15-minute news report, when radio was rather proud, alert and fast. I recently asked a network official, "Why this great rash of five-minute news reports (including three commercials) on weekends?" He replied, "Because that seems to be the only thing we can sell."

GEEZ, they really don't have any clue on programming common sense do they. Who is running the ship. They must be about to sell the stations, the whole company the way they are dumping salary.
I'd rather listen to Fox than that crap. They had the legal zone on during the afternoon. Just when I wanted to get away from the Titans postgame. That junk was on. All we need is some dude on trying to get people off for drinking and driving.

Definitely don't want to defend MENtality, but the way you phrased your post left me wondering: Why does anyone purposely, regularly tune into Fox Sports? I'm serious, would you elaborate? I'm wondering if there's something good about it that I'm missing...

By the way, when 106.7 was Urban, the Beat felt a bit of a hit for a while, so don't blame the signal for the Fan's inability to pull an audience.

Sunday night I like to hear what happened w/ the NFL games during the day. It's not that I love Fox Sports but that is my only option due to the Fan's lack of signal. We are a supposed NFL town and all we can get after the games is The Legal Zone, 2 hours of Vols, racing and now Mentality? That is what the 4AM - 7AM slot is for! I don't blame the signal of the Fan but the more coverage, the more potential listeners....seems like they are shooting themselves in the foot by not upping their signal.

I really enjoy Fox Sports Radio. Take that back--I really enjoy sports radio, and like Skagoogee said, sometimes Fox is the only option. I really, though, don't see the problem with it. I enjoy listening to it.

Just like that, huh? FYI...they're at the max of
what they can squeeze out of the 106.7 signal.
It's not a bad signal: just a class A surrounded by
others on 106.7

but wait...there's more!</P>

I figured they got 3 tin cans and some foil....just add some more tin cans. It's a bad signal if I can't get it.

What you say makes a lot of sense. I guess the Zone's pre- and post game coverage is actually what's on before and after Titans Radio on 103.3, but I see what you mean about the need for complete NFL coverage in an NFL town. And while the Thompson Bros. are among the best of Fox's sorry lot, surely there are sponsors out there for a locally charged NFL Gameday wrap 8-10 p.m. Get McClain, Wyatt, Climer, McCormick, etc. as well as contacts from other cities to do segments with a local host.

Still have yet to hear from anyone, though, who makes Fox a "must-tune-in" for the just for the sake of Fox or any of the hosts.
