Hey you are a real comedian, what else do you do for
The 2000 Census showed in the Philly metro.
Irish - 16% - where is their FULL TIME station?
Italian - 13% - where is their FULL TIME station?
German - 12% - where is their FULL TIME station?
Polish - 10% - where is their FULL TIME station?
English/French/Slavik/Greek - 22% where is their FULL TIME station?
Asian/Islander/Canadian - 7% - where is their FULL TIME station?

AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!! I ASK THAT "UN"-LIBERAL QUESTION, WHY CATER TO THIS ONE BREED OF HUMANS (who refuse to be American-ized) AND NOT THE OTHERS.....DISCUSS!!

I don't know where is the matter, The most automatic answer machines are both spanish and English?

Gas, Electry, Bank, Hospital,Cable and the most Companies Say:

This is X company to continue in English Press # 1, Para Espanol presione el # 2.

They never say: for Italian, Irish, German, Polish or anymore.

May be CC is thinking like these companies

2. did you really combine Pacific Islander and Canadian?
(Hi, I'm Pompatau McKenzie, eh?)

2a. wait, of course you did, you also combined Brits with Slovaks!

3. i know you didn't utilize official census results because they list no Philly DMA citizens as having Canada as their country of origin. french canadian is well represented, but i doubt they as french speakers would enjoy the musical stylings of the Tuvalu warriors.

Were it 1900, we would have "Press 2 for Italian." Were it 1975, we would have "press 2 for German." (assuming you could press anything or that there were phones, of course).

Marketers want to be friendly to a group that makes up 15% of the population, Hispanics ("Spanish" are people from Spain, and the term is offensive when applied to Hispanics). So they offer services in the language that a large percentage of Hisanics speak.

The Italians, Germans, Poles, etc. came long ago and there are few or no first generation speakers here any longer. Most of the Irish spoke English, althogh some also spoke Gaelic.

Finally, Hisanics are not a "breed." "Breed" is a term used for dogs.

Hispanic is a culture of or descendent from the Spanish langauge. There are Hispanics of all races (White, Black, Indigenous and Asian and mixes, too). There are many ethnicities within Hispanics, and many nationalities. But "breed" is not a characteristic of humans, unless you are insulting them. Which you are...

1. right

2. i'm not sure i understand your argument fully. are you trying to discredit yourself? in your first post you claim that other nationalities should have their own ethnicity represented with a station in the philadelphia market, then in this second post you discredit your argument yourself by correctly pointing out that Spanish is the most predominant language in and around philadelphia next to english paired with the above quote

3. following that logic, if spanish is the number two language, it stands to reason that they get the big FM stick before Polish, Greek, and Japanese speaking stations

4. i'm glad to see you are logged in under the correct user name for this post!

SAM HORN!!! Did you know there is a whole website dedicated to you? These crazy people claim to be your son... whackos. Speaking of whackos glad to see O'Hara has been outted for using multiple names.

1. that's right, you did "posted David said:"

1a. but what exactly did David said? i'm guessing David said that there were no Spanish people in philadelphia. also, because your diatribe sensed not, i'm seeing that maybe David said all of those inaccurate percentages because it's not emboldened and you like to talk in bold and stuff

1b. "Capitan" said: something about phone companies asking you to press dos for Spanish and how clear channel is thinking like the phone company

2. a commensurate search of radio-info however shows that David never said anything about Pacific Islanders/Canadians getting their own station, only "Capitan" said such

2a. in that light, you can "posted David said:" all you want. you said it, he didn't. unless you can link otherwise, my original assessment of you desiring the wonderful global spectrum (sans Spanish, of course) to be represented on 98.9, 102.1, 104.5, 105.3, and 106.1 stands accurate
