104.5 WUBA Format

So with the change of 104.5 from Spanish Tropical to Rock. Is the actual format Rock, Active Rock or Alternative? How would you catagoriez 104.5 format?

It has been described as Adult Alternative. That can be a good thing or a bad thing - we'll soon find out. I sure hope they filter out all the Nickelback, Hinder, and other soccer mom garbage.

i agree with soul crusher. i want an active rock like WYSP Use to be or a mainstream rock like WMMR is. even though they were the same station about 5 years ago

From what I gather it's a gold-based Alternative station aimed at adults.

"Adult Alternative", in the general sense, conjures images of copius amounts of "Alt Lite" like Jack Johnson and Dave Matthews, rather than The Clash, White Stripes, and Arcade Fire. As long as they go light on the Nu-Metal, and avoid the Mullet Rock/Hair Band dreck they should find an audience.

In other words, be the anti-'MMR. And leave the hot AC for the others.

Just curious, does Philly have a Hot AC?

Nope. The last attempt at it... Mix 95.7 was a failure. There are a few fringe singals that inch into the market (but have nowhere near full-coverage). SoJO 104.9, B104 (Adult Leaning CHR) 93.7 WSTW (Adult Leaning CHR) 94.5 WPST (Adult Leaning CHR by day).
