"After many years of operation, it has become obvious that our license to operate KXAL-LP has outlived its usefulness.
For the last year, we have been searching for a qualified applicant who would accept a donation of the station.
Unfortunately, finding such an applicant located within a distance that would comply with the Commission's LPFM parameters has been fruitless.
The only qualified possibilities are simply too far away from the station's current location.
We have consulted an engineering firm as well as had a telephone conversation with a representative from your Audio Division.
Short of spending a small fortune and perhaps years in the process, it does not appear that such a move is feasible.
Therefore, we have made the reluctant decision to surrender the license for cancellation.
KXAL-LP's last date of operation was April 30, 2018."
