104.7's New Call Letters ... (drumroll) KJUL

Wow ... first Summit Media drops Country and picks up the Nostalgia format .... and now it picks up the old KJUL call letters.

Scott Gentry really needs to be commended. Talk about a guy picking up a bunch of new friends (grant it, "older" friends).

There will be a lot of curiosity once word gets out. As previously posted, even with the signal ... if they pick up a 1 share -- it's 1 more than they had with Willie.

KJUL Returns! Might we even hear some familiar voices too?

How much of the metro do they cover?

Yes we will, Duke Morgan is on right now.

Not a lot. Technically, KJUL's Grade B coverage does not reach metro Vegas; but given the way signals bounce around, it can be picked up in various parts of the city at various levels. The station is licensed to Moapa Valley and their transmitter is near Mesquite. They really need to find an FM translator in metro Vegas in order to get a more reliable signal.

The KJUL call letters were actually picked up on Oct. 19 by 790 AM. Then last Friday, 790 AM and 104.7 FM exchanged call signs.

Thanks for the information.

I'm NEW here so pardon me if I take a few times to get into "Protocol".
I am looking at their signal on a remote RCVR (Icom PCR)located near I-95 and Craig Rd.
The transmitter on 104.7 is a "S-7" while the rest like 93.1 are 60DB over S-9.
It's better than 20DB quieting by far.All in all, not a bad signal.

Isn't Las Vegas a strong market for Adult Standards??
