104.9 The Hawk! Credit Where Credit is Due

I know no one is at the helm and this was probably an accident, but who ever decided to play Live In Concert On Saturday Nights did something right. LOVE That show and unlike the normal robot rock garbage they normally play 24/7, this is a nice change of pace and I can actually listen for more than 10 minutes at a time.
This station could do something with a little more than the minimum they put into it. I know that won't happen but hey... Saturday Night is a nice place to start. For those who may not know... 104.9 is The Wolfeboro Station (in name only) It's located on the honky tonk side of the Lake and has been ever since Jay Williams screwed a bunch of people in Wolfeboro. The only time they mention Wolfeboro is in the id's or when they need to drag some money out of advertisers over here... but I digress....

I don't know Jay or who he "screwed", but let's be real here, there's not a whole lot in Wolfeboro. Makes a lot more sense to be on the side of the lake where the business is.
 
Wolfeboro, done right can be a lot more profitable than the 'honky tonk' side of the Lake. Local radio is making a comeback and you are right... it's old news. Just a little more class over here and you can still sell The Weirs. 104.9 is just another robot rock station. Too bad... it's that way all over.
 
You can see Wolfeboro via the naked eye from the transmitter site in Gilford. There is complete line of site and Wolfeboro still gets a great signal from this station. The only people that lost out was Alton due to the shadowing caused by the mountains. Moving the transmitter to Gilford makes more sense than any other move made by any other station in the area. If LNH got their C3 signal up there, they'd boom. Stupidist transmitter move goes to 100.1 WPNH.
 
LNH is a C-3. A station in Vermont went off or moved or something and that made it possible from what I understand. LNH has a null to the west, n.west and really has a killer signal to the east since the power increase.

Hawk has a great signal and the move was fine but better would have been on top of Belknap, but apparently no one can go up there (County) And you are right... can't here it at all in Alton. Crummy signal through the rt 11 corridor.

I'm sure Fronk is a nice guy... I'm just fed up with robot rock, voice tracked radio...

The X mitter move was not what I was referring too... the manner in which some people were ripped off by Mr Williams... ancient history... oh well.

WGMT Lyndon moved from 98.3 to 97.7 in the late '90s
