WWJN Ridgeland/Hilton Head has been sold to "Low Country Radio LLC" for a whopping $650k...only $75k in cash.

I have no clue about the new buyers. The three people mentioned are not ringing any bells for me.

However, the LMA starts on 2/1/10. No clue about studio location, format, etc. Any help would be nice.

It would be a great signal to put in mono and have a news/talk or sports format on. Maybe oldies or standards? All I know is that "John FM" will at least have to get rid of the "John" nickname since "John" won't be calling anymore shots!

As of Monday afternoon, John FM is gone. Replaced with a loop of waves and seagulls. TOH ID is still WWJN Ridgeland/Hilton Head

The website says:

The format you love will return in its entirety
and be bigger and better than before.
Please check back.
We will keep you posted on our progress.

But, I found this:

Looks like it's gonna be oldies

Some pretty nice stations down that way. Unfortunately they end up shutting off their encoders for whatever their reasons, and then that starts a temper tantrum, name calling and everything else somewhere; then that turns into an understanding that it was to keep the programming secret - it's always someplace far away where the nonsense goes on, South Carolina just has a good time.

ANOTHER Classic Hits station!!?? Wow, what a disappointment!

Classic Hits doesn't work in this area. Period.

WIOP does okay for itself, and that is a great little station.
