It looks like they got the calls from 100.7 in Brunswick, GA, which was going by Arrow 100.7 (now Kool 100.7/WKQL).

Let's see, how about Retro Radio?? Robot Radio???<P

Still going by WWDL as of 10 am this morning...

I would think the calls probably stand for "Rock And Roll" as in Rock And Roll Oldies....I've heard noises that they are going to make 104.9 oldies and these calls would seem to fit.

Incidentally, the former WPRR in Altoona stood for "Pennsylvania Railroad" even though for a time they used the call letters to phonetically say "Power 100"...but I doubt this has anything to do with WWRR, even with WDNH's calls also being named after a railroad in the area, and them belonging to the same company now.

As of 3:00pm, it is still ID'ed as WWDL-FM "Scranton/Wilkes-Barre".

As for the rumored oldies format, it won't eventually happen because its sister
station WICK-AM(1340/1400) has already an oldies format. However, in the past week it had cut down on the disco and focus on the 50's, 60's, and some 70's music.

The calls WWRR could stand for anything other than oldies.
