104 the X

I have had to go to Baton Rouge everyday for the past few months and have really appreciated 104.5/104.9 the X. This station plays a great mix of new alternative as well as some great throwbacks to the earlier days of alternative (bringing back memories of "106.1 - The Zephyr").My favorite part is no blabber in the mornings - JUST MUSIC with minimal commercials - what a concept !I know their ratings are miniscule and their crazy double signal probably doesn't help. You have to remember that if you are on the north side to go to 104.5 (Jackson) and south it's 104.9 (Donaldsonville).

The X is my #1 preset. They actually play a lot of commercials now, in comparison to what they used to play. They also are very safe when it comes to adding new songs. Stuff usually has to chart first to get significant spins instead of just jumping on it and going. But they aren't bad. They try. They aren't as good as they were early on, but they are better than they once were. I think Guaranty figured out the magic formula of just how much money they need to spend to get the ratings they are looking for.
