1040's Automation System

Things must really be bad at Genesis, financially.

For the last month, every weekend has had their Automation system mis-fire and run commercials at the same time the Sports Center updates are running.

I'm trying to get the Royals and Cardinals scores and I have to try and listen in-between having the Sports Babe chum it up with Ira Kauffman.

I'm glad someone else has noticed this.

Have you ever caught a Yankee game on 1040? By my count, they have never rolled a local break in the pre-game show, EVER. Every Yanks' pre-game show on 1040 feature 3 or 4 long periods of natural sound from the open field mikes at the Stadium; good times. ::)

Nothing says "professionalism" like dead air, crowd noise and overlapping commercials. Makes you proud that we're a top 20 market doesn't it?

That's what happens when the company cuts expenses by firing the very people who keep the station running.
The same thing is going on in Tampa Bay Television. Getting rid of Master Control Operators and replacing them with computers.
When the computer systems do something wrong or fail completely ..........

Great example. Sunday, July 10th. Mets vs Giants. Mid 2nd inning break, espn mike and mike promo begins, only to be cut off by two public service announcements...two more psas...and by now surely the inning has started...two more commercials, two promos and a hardware chain spot....and now back to the game, two batters into the inning.

and it was also past sunset so I should not have heard that signal here in east of Tampa...
