105.1 FM WNGA

I've been able to pick up 105.1 WNGA in northern Gwinnett very well until recently some spanish station is splashing all over them. Is there a new translator or pirate on 105.1 in the Buford area??

WNGA is upgrading from 1700W/A to 7000W/C3 on the same tower. Were they broadcasting at the time? Was it Patron bleeding on them?

That speaks volumes about the health, or lack thereof, of small market radio in the southeastern states. Art is one of the better operators who IMO has the business savy and radio experience to survive in pretty much any situation. For him to throw in the towel says alot.
Tom Taylor published comments only a few weeks ago in which Art describes a drastically changed business enviroment out in the rural areas. I think his other stations are still OK but not doing as well as they were six months ago.
Radio, big city and rural alike, may be in for some more hard times.
Buckle your seatbelts........

Could CC buy the station (back) and take it off the air permanently, and then power up 105.3 or move it closer to town?

My guess is that either Jacobs Media or Greg Davis will purchase WNGA. If it goes to Jacobs look for FM sports (WGGA-simulcast), and If it goes to Davis, a simulcast of LaRaza or Pop 100.1

What's currently going on with WAZX-FM 101.9? Are they still on the air? That station seems to be in the same boat...

Art has an application to move the tower south. The 60 dbu signal encompasses all of Lake Lanier, Gainsville, and a good chunk of the northeastern metro area.
This looks like a big $$$ signal about to appear.
Once again, Art Sutton is about to ring the cash registar as he has done several times before. Don't worry......with this station's footprint it WILL make money.........
