105.1 in Ellijay? WNGA reborn?

on the way back from Cherokee, NC going down 515 into Ellijay, picked up a strong carrier playing oldies/AC mix. Never got a call sign. Strong signal into northern Cherokee county, but had the WORST audio. Sounded like they were using low bitrate MP3's for their music or using some 128K line for their STL. Very "metallic" sounding.

Is this WNGA reborn? pirate? I see a translator listed on the FCC for WLJA on that frequency but tuning to 101.1 revealed a completely different station.

someone please contact their engineering staff and tell them to up the bandwidth on their 56K DSL lite connection STL for their FM. It sounds like it has potential to be a great little FM signal. but it's painful to listen to as is.

It's hard to beat 96.5. 96.5 at Chestnut Hill in Hall County sounds like translator for a cheap small speaker clock radio next to a cheap microphone. The Spanish format is good and could do better if this was corrected.
