Probably true. I figured the oldies flip was a somewhat organic move from the previous MOYL network format since it was creeping more towards oldies every day.
The playlist so far isn't very impressive. LOTS of 80's male new wave pop mixed with the occasional oldie. Not nearly the interesting mix you get from WPYA in Norfolk, or the River in Raleigh. Their positioning promo has samples ranging from C+C Music Factory to Hoobastank, but they are strictly all male pre-1985 so far.
Some songs are obscure because they are crap. Ah well, it's the first day. It's almost a return to the station's roots long ago at 104.9 - WCPQ, when it sounded like the DJ's pretty much played whatever 45 touched their hands first when they reached into the stack.
