105.3 FM Bentley Univ + Other "leaky cable" stations

Bentley's leaky cable (or whatever its called) station on 105.3 uses the call letters "WBTY". Is verbal usage of these calls illegal per se since it is an unlicensed entity? The calls do belong to an FM in Georgia officially. I was just wonderin'.

Nope. A part 15 station (leaky cable) can use whatever call sign they want to, since they are unlicensed.
They are only regulated to the power levels.

Back in my Waltham days in the early 90s, "WBTY" was operating carrier-current on 530 - and it was leaky enough that I could hear it quite clearly all the way across town at Brandeis. I guess some things never change!
