105.3 Hempstead format change?

> Any more news on 105.3 KTWL Hempstead and its rumored flip
> to the Bob format?

Still running the "Lite FM" format and still simulcast with KULF 94.1 when I checked a few minutes ago. They've been ID'ing as KTWL for several weeks now.

Those of us on the northwest side will have to check 105.3 tomorrow to see what happens.

A google search for KTWL turns up nothing useful.

I am waiting for this myself. I work in The Woodlands off of 45 and Research Forest. I will be listening in beginning at 7am when I get to work and report it as soon as it happens..if it happens.
______________

Do you think this might be an opportunity for KULF to fire up the new 50kw signal at the same time? Has Roy E. even begun construction on the tower? I don't recall seeing ANYTHING remotely as tall as the CP states his antenna will be in Austin county. I also wonder if this smells of a pending flip for either KULF or KLTR considering they both will basically cover the same ground once KULF goes 50kw, and wouldn't make much sense to simulcast on both frequencies. I know who we are talking about here, but even he couldn't be THAT foolish...could he?
______________

Do you have a tape recorder there so you can get a recording of the flip if it happens?

Don't tell me it will be a simulcast of one of Cumulus' Houston stations!

Any proposed coverage maps up yet? I would be anxious to see how the signal will come thru North Houston.

Different station but when I visit friends KUST 99.7 is no longer even heard in the Northwest Mall area which is a shame, I miss hearing K*star country. Weird thing is Shine All Nine KSHN 99.9 is comes in better most of the time on my truck radio than Kstar. Go figure.

Sorry JCR, it was already on the air when I got here this morning. I'm not sure when they flipped it, but it was sometime in the wee hours of the morning. As of 10pm last night it was still in simulcast with KLTR.

I was planning to listen at midnight but had a busy evening and forgot.. I turned on 105.3 at 12:30 a.m. and it was already broadcasting as Bob FM.

Well, I wasn't talking about me, Stan. I said talent.

History question on Weaver Morrow.

These two lines made my day. Mike, you are a very talented person. I enjoy listening to you guys on KFNC every morning on the way to work. I do have a question for you though. Maybe it's because I am too young to remember, but who exactly is Weaver Morrow? The name rings a bell to me, but I can't put my finger on it. He stated that he had been on the air for a number of years here. But where?
______________

Weaver was cohost of Sunny 99.1's morning show for more than a decade -- until a year or so ago. He was also mornings on KRBE in the '80s. Thank you giving us a listen, osr...

No, thank you Mike...

> Thank you giving us a listen, osr...

...for having a great show, and giving me a great place to tune into each and every morning. You guys are the best thing to happen to morning radio, in a long while. Keep up the great job!

Also, thanks for the information on Weaver Morrow. I knew the name was familiar to me, I just couldn't place where I knew him from. I seldom listen to KODA, so my familiarity with him goes back to his KRBE days.
______________
