A couple days ago I heard 105.3 midday jock Aly say that they had thrown Overnight host Doubledown a "going away" party the previous night and that he was leaving the station. Wanting to know why he was leaving the Buzz so soon, I consulted AllAccess.com to find out he is off to be the PD of 98 Rock in Tampa.

CLEAR CHANNEL Active Rock WXTB (98ROCK)/TAMPA names JAMES HOWARD (aka DOUBLE DOWN) as PD replacing BRIAN MEDLIN. DOUBLE DOWN has been the Executive Assistant to CC SVPP MARC CHASE. His first day at WXTB will be JUNE 19th.
Had no idea about that Marc Chase thing.
I always enjoyed Doubledown's The Dark Side show over the last 10+ months (I think he started in late July last year). He always brought up some interesting topics between songs without talking too much. Best of luck to him at 98 Rock, where he'll be working (in person) with 96rock night host Big Rig.
Who will take over the overnight shift on 105.3? A current weekend jock, someone new, or nobody?
