105.3 The Surge

Reminds me of Power in Jacksonville. Sounds great to be owned by a small internet radio company. This would be great competition for Hot 1029 if it could get put on the air somehow.

My guess is that 105.3 is a placeholder, and that they hope to get an LPFM frequency in the October filing window. 104.3 is available throughout the Dayton area; and 105.5 in the southern Dayton area. I suspect that there will be many organizations competing for the open frequencies.

I'm sure there may be a frequency or two if you can make the distances fit. But, when I did an LP-FM search, Dayton was pretty tight. Almost so tight as to be impossible for a 100 watt station...

And, besides, if musical format is the only reason someone would want an LP-FM, it would be a waste of frequency. These stations are non commercial and should rightfully be aimed at serving a community of license. NOT just to be a thorn in the side of some commercial operator, or to be some young kid's radio playground...
