105.3 translator near Bridgeport

nd2023

Banned
Since November, I have noticed a new translator on 105.3 around the Bridgeport area. Its strong enough to be heard from just west of Norwalk to about Stratford. It kills my reception of Party 105.3, which I used to be able to hear all the way from just east of New Haven to Stamford along I95. Now I get Party 105 from Stamford to Norwalk, then that useless translator, and Party 105 comes in from Stratford to New Haven, and I lose it around Wallingford as I go up 91. It has a bigger signal than its map shows. I wish this translator would go off the air or to a different frequency. 107.3 would be so much better.
Or maybe it could pick up Party's 101.5 translator and simulcast it, thereby strengthening Party 105 reception in Connecticut.

It is indeed WMNR, it is in the same location as the other WMNR translator on 91.9. You can see the translator antennas from I95, near exit 22, on the roof of a small building.

What is the point of having TWO translators of the SAME programming at the SAME location? 91.9 actually goes a little further than 105.3 because 91.9 is a clear frequency, and 105.3 isn't. And the parent station can be received well in the translator's entire coverage area. That's why I think the translator at 105.3 is useless.
