105.5 ESPN Corpus Christi Goes Rap/Chr

KLHB has dumped sports for pop/rap. No word of what happens to Pudge in the afternoon, but you got to figure he's gone. Sports seems to be a format of death in Corpus Christi. 1230 has done it for 11 years, but others don't seem to fare as well.

That's a lot of CHR stations.
95.5
102.3
103.3
105.5
107.7 (originator for 103.3)

If I was them I would play only oldschool hip-hop/rap since there's so many new pop/rap stations.

RadioInsight told a friend of mine they didn't flip and this thread is incorrect.

Correction: they didn't flip to top 40, according to Lance from RadioInsight. I'm trying to be anonymous so I talked about a friend of mine. Sorry Lance!

It's top 40 but pretty much all over the place and VERY rhythmic.. They're talking about something "wild" but they didn't really do much imaging for the launch. I was told staff at ESPN was told Tuesday after the fact. In listening, it's a pretty bad imitation of Z-95.

Inside Radio is reporting it's changing formats but didn't mention what it would be switching to. So, that may or may not be the permanent format.

I have heard that Pudge in the afternoon from 105.5 will do mornings on Sports Radio 1230-95.1 starting Monday Morning. Looks Like market veteran Eric Von Wade is out for mornings at KSIX.
