105.5 The Vulcan...

When did the flip happen? I just made a quick run to Arby's, and in the drive-thru line I did some scanning... and was shocked to hear GnR on 105.5. This decision appears to have been made recently, as there were dead segues into the next two songs. I just heard a liner that simply identified the station as "105-5 The Vulcan."

Mostly current and recurrent rock, with some classics (Nirvana, Guns N Roses, etc.) thrown in. Just heard Beck, so it appears to be a broad range, at least out of the box. "Best Of You" by the Foo Fighters is playing right now as I type this.

is there an undergound stream to this station
Not that I know of. WENN didn't offer streaming with its previous format...

I wonder how much longer is 105.5 going to keep the WENN calls?

could this be clear channel's response to citidel's stupidity? (radio-info called that a clear channel station....i never even knew we could get it here in dullman until i started scanning)

Didn't see that one coming

I figured it'd be Cox doing the reaction flip with 97.3. It'll be interesting to see what they do w/r/t talent.

Didn't kramer or someone hint at them doing this a year ago?

Jeepers at all the changes!

Does anyone know what the RDS is reading now on WENN and WRA...I mean, WJOX? And, as an even longer shot, does anyone happen to know if WENN's HD-2 feed is still up and carrying smooth jazz?

Just wanna get my webpage updated. :)

Smooth Jazz is still on 105.5-HD2. I'm guessing it'll eventually become New Alternative like the HD2's of every other CC alternative station, but it hasn't yet.

If 105.5 is going to be Alternative, then rock on! Hope they'll do better than WRAX did and have a playlist that'll be true to the new format.

Judging by the people over on the Alt. Rock boards here, I'd say "don't hold your breath" for the station to be all that hot. Seems a lot of folks don't care for CC's take on the alt. rock format.

105.3 The Buzz in Atlanta was better than the X has been over the past year. Sure, it probably won't blow our minds, but if they put half an effort into it and hire some good talent, it'll be adequate enough.

i'm listening through a private stream (I will not give out the URL). What I've heard so far sounds great. I was able to pick it up last night for a little while, while WYTM was off the air for the night, and I was able to null out WVNA-FM.

You have to give CC credit for finding a niche and filling it before the RAX studio door shut for the last time. I wonder if all the Cox --
staff are in a padded round room trying to figure out how to get another country station on the air in Birmingham.

It is a sad statement on where Chitadel has gone in the last three years, nationally....

Think they will put Bob and Tom on mornings?

their other station is supposedly still carryng them (WAQX in Syracuse NY).
I'm sure you all can tell what morning show I'd love to see on 105.5, but I know that ain't happening!

Guns and Roses on a New Rock station. *yawn.* I'll miss Reg's Coffeehouse on X.
