105.7 along I-85 in Atlanta

I will admit I rarely listened to 105.7 during the Viva days as I don't speak Spanish and I don't much care for the music anyhow. However... now that it has flipped to Groove I have listened a few times when I speed through the dial in the morning and I've noticed that their signal seems very weak along I-85 ITP - Lots of static, my receiver barely grabs the HD signal. Has this been the way 105.7 has been all this time or is this new?

On 10/28 around 8:30a I heard them masked by some station doing what sounded like either a PSA or a sermon clear as a bell between the Shallowford Road and Clairmont Road exits. I took that route to work again on 10/29 just see if it happened again and there was still someone else on that frequency in that neighborhood (although it wasn't as clear). It sounded like a woman talking or laughing - definitely not Groove's programming (that I could hear fighting with it beneath).

Anybody have a clue as to what I might have been hearing?

The Groove signal is not the greatest in that area. I too picked up another station on the same morning in the same neighborhood. While the 105.7 signal is fairly weak there, the interference from the other station was probably just a function of atmospheric conditions this week.

I wonder if WEKL (105.7) out of Augusta may have been reaching with its signal this week here. When I lived over in Norcross, that station, especially when the atmospheric conditons were right, would echo right on top of the local 105.7 Last I looked, their transmitter sits high up on a hill in North Augusta and puts out quite a signal reach, especially towards Atlanta.

WSSL was walking all over Rock 100.5 and WVRK Rock 103 over Majic 102.9 this AM. But the DXing was good, although not as good as a week ago. I could get Legend in loud and clear in Gwinnett, which I usually can't do.

I was figuring the atmospheric conditions had something to do with it. Thanks!
